7 Wild Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories

3.     5G Internet

If you thought cutting-edge technology would be left out of the list of wild coronavirus conspiracy theories, then you were sadly mistaken. Conspiracy theorists allege that radiation from 5G internet technology somehow suppresses the immune system, thereby increasing human susceptibility to the coronavirus infection.

Wuhan was one of the first Chinese cities to have 5G internet technology. The chief proponent of this conspiracy theory, Dana Ashlie, alleges that a 20-year-old research paper discusses the perils that 5G internet poses to human health. However, she conveniently misses out on another 2005 research that found no threat to human health from 5G internet radiation. Critics also say that 15 other cities, besides Wuhan, had 5G internet technology when the epidemic broke out; so much for these outlandish insinuations.
