When it comes to well-respected mattress brands, Loom and Leaf mattress is in a league of its own. This luxury brand is part of Saatva, one of the world’s leading online mattress retailers. This is the only Saatva brand that isn’t shipped in a box. This is a premium, organic memory foam mattress, which has a cover made from organic cotton. In this review, we will reveal everything you need to know about the mattress, including who it is suitable for and the different options that are available to you.

Who is the Loom and Leaf Mattress Made For?

This mattress is suitable for all sleeper types, i.e. side, stomach, and back sleepers. If you like memory foam, then this is certainly a mattress to consider. Aside from this, it will appeal to people looking for a mattress at a reasonable price, as well as hot sleepers. After all, it is one of the coolest types of memory gel foam mattresses on the market today. One of the key qualities of this mattress is just how versatile it is, and so it is suitable for both heavy and petite individuals.

Loom and Leaf Comfort Levels

One thing to note about the Loom and Leaf mattress is that you have two different comfort levels to select from. The first is firm and the other is a relaxed firm. The firm mattress is perfect for anyone who wants a firm feel from their mattress. It is better for stomach sleepers and back sleepers who want to be on top of the mattress, i.e. they do not want to nestle in. The relaxed firm mattress is the more popular of the two. This is because it is suitable for all types of sleepers, whether you prefer sleeping on your side, stomach, or back.

Loom and Leaf Mattress Construction

This mattress is fully compromised with foam. There are five different foam layers that are using, which come in around 11-12 inches in thickness. Dense polyfoam is used firstly, with a layer around 5.5 inches. This acts as the foundation for the mattress. You then have a two-inch transition loft pad after this. This is essentially a layer from the transition from the foam support beneath it. Then, on the top, there is a 2.5-inch layer of visco-elastic memory foam, which weighs in at five-pound. This layer gives the bed contouring support and deep pressure relief. There is then a two-inch lawyer of gel-swirl memory foam on the top, which weighs four-pound. This provides the mattress with a comfortable and soft feel.

One feature that we really love about this mattress is that there is a special gel panel on the top layer, which has been designed to assist with regulating the temperature. This is essentially cooling gel, which is in a laminated sheet, which will set just underneath the cover. You won’t notice it, as it is extremely subtle. However, despite being discreet, it has a huge role to play, ensuring the bed is at a cool temperature throughout the night so that you remain as comfortable as possible.

Organic Cotton

An organic cotton cover is used to wrap the mattress. An added 5/8 inch of soft foam is quilted into the cover for enhanced comfort. This creates a comfortable and very soft cover, which gives the bed a premium feel and look. Unlike a lot of the newer mattresses out there, this mattress also smells great too, which is always a benefit. The cover cannot be removed, so you do need to spot clean the cover using water and a mild detergent.

Active Sleepers

This mattress is also beneficial for active sleepers, or someone who sleeps next to an active sleeper. Motion isolation and edge support tend to be of concern for couples whereby one person is active in their sleep and the other is not. Let’s start by taking a look at edge support. The Loom and Leaf mattress definitely performs well in this regard. You will still feel supported on the edge of the bed.

Motion Isolation

In terms of motion isolation, this is a term used to describe how effectively movement is absorbed by the bed, which is certainly important if you have a partner who goes to the toilet a lot during the night! Dealing with movement is actually one of the best qualities of the Loom and Leaf mattress. There is a very small amount of motion across the mattress that is transferred from one part of the bed to the other. If you share your bed with an active sleeper, this is certainly going to be a quality that you really appreciate.

As you can see, there is a lot to like about the Loom and Leaf mattress. If you are looking for a new mattress, this is certainly one that we would consider looking into, as it offers a lot of great qualities.
