Some beloved movie titles never get old, no matter how many times you watch them. Cult classics, staples around Christmas like Home Alone, or iconic movies with some of the best dialogue even twenty years later. Everyone has a few titles they can’t get enough of.
Well, what if you found something to keep you going? Something to keep the story alive and pick up the adventure from where it had left off? Whether you enjoy something like the Peaky Blinders, a popular series about gambling, or you want to jump back into the world of your favorite movie, some of these have materialized again in the form of TV shows! To see if your favorite made a list, keep reading below!
1. Wednesday
A series to hit our screen recently this year and has quickly accumulated quite a buzz around it (with even Lady Gaga jumping on the viral TikTok dance sequence) is Wednesday. This supernatural comedic horror series follows the once young Wednesday Addams from, you guessed it, the iconic The Addams Family! Follow a grown-up Wednesday who navigates her way through the usual life drama in the Addams family while trying to solve a mystery thanks to the powers inherited from her mother. With a bit of spookiness and a bit of lighthearted comedy, it’s perfect for the colder months!
2. Fargo
Inspired by the 1996 film of the same name, Fargo, this TV series is set in the same fictional world as the original movie and aired from 2014 to the present, with the fifth season being released this year. The TV series interestingly follows an anthological format, meaning that each season has something new to offer you! Each season is set in not only a different location but also a different era, as well as fresh characters and a new storyline!
3. War of the Worlds
Inspired by the events of the original 1953 film with the same title, which was based on the novel by H.G Wells, the sci-fi series is a sequel and very much inspired by the same war machine universe. With a slight twist to the events that unfolded at the end of the film, the series takes a slightly different take and gives viewers a look into the aliens’ origins and where they came from. At the same time, the general population was made to believe that the film’s events never actually occurred. Thirty-five years later, though, the aliens find themselves active once again on Earth and aim to inhabit it for themselves.

4. Snowpiercer
If you couldn’t get enough of Parasite from the incredible Bong Joon Ho, then Snowpiercer will be a real treat! With the movie featuring the same name and starring Chris Evans, the tv series serves as a prequel and focuses on events before the film’s events. It continues to expand and focus on the themes that the movie sheds light on – social injustices and class inequalities, all while the world continues to freeze and perish in the extreme cold.
5. Chucky
Halloween might be over, but if you’re still in a creepy mood, Chucky is a perfect evening watch! As if the doll Chucky wasn’t terrifying enough in the film version, the animated version is less likely to give you chills. The series serves as a sequel to the Cult of Chucky, where Chucky gets up to all sorts of nefarious acts (as usual) and drags Jake Wheeler into the mix alongside him, causing chaos across the city to skyrocket like never before.
6. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
If you’re looking to jump back into the beloved world of Tolkien after The Hobbit, then LOTR: The Rings of Power is a perfect addition to your watchlist. The TV series is set well before The Hobbit, takes place in the Second Age amongst Middle-Earth, and is set to be cast for five seasons.
With production set to be one of the most expensive television series ever made, you can expect to see some fantastic things from the very get-go! With a focus on the formation of the Rings of Power and how they came into existence, some of your unanswered questions from the books and the films should be covered. What Tolkien covered in the span of a few thousand years, the series aims to condense down into the most prominent and essential events, keeping you hooked from start to finish!
