Donald Trump Goes Down in History: First Former Prez Facing Criminal Prosecution
In a shocking turn of events, Donald Trump has been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, making him the first former president in US history to face criminal charges. The indictment comes after weeks of anticipation following Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s high-profile investigation into Trump’s hush-money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Trump’s Tawdry Affair with Daniels
The steamy scandal dates back to 2006 and 2007, when Trump allegedly had an affair with Daniels after meeting her at a celebrity golf tournament. In an attempt to keep the scandal under wraps, Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 for her silence in October 2016, just before the election. Media reports have suggested that the payment was allegedly made to protect Trump’s presidential campaign but was never disclosed as a campaign contribution. Trump’s legal team has already publicly stated that it was a nuisance payment and was made irrespective of the campaign.
Trump’s Fixer Pays the Price
Cohen used his own money and a shell corporation to make the hush money payment, while Trump is said to have directed the reimbursement of over $400,000 to Cohen through his company, the Trump Organization. The scandal has already landed Cohen with a guilty plea for violating campaign finance laws.
“No One Is Above the Law”
Trump’s indictment is a major test for the American legal system, as it seeks to uphold the principle that nobody, not even a former president, is above the law. While Trump and his supporters claim the charges are politically motivated, the indictment could lead to further criminal charges against the former president, who is currently under investigation in Georgia and by a federal special prosecutor.
The outcome of this historic case will undoubtedly have significant implications for Trump, his legacy, and the future of American politics.
Perhaps you should provide full disclose at the onset of your OPINION piece, that it is your OPINION, and stop writing it as all FACTUAL. You should also mention that there was a “hush money fund” set up in the House (or was possibly the Senate) for the specific purpose of paying off gold-digger females who would accuse a politicians of improprieties. It was shut down after the ALLEGED affairs by President Trump. You should also do a little more reporting so you could learn that, for YEARS, women have used the accusations toward RICH MEN to make their own little fortune – and the RICH MEN would choose to just pay off the gold-digger than bother taking her to court for slander/libel. There was NO “steamy affair,” or “tawdry affair,” unless you have some proof that no one else has. There IS, however, a legitimate complaint against the sitting “president” (and I use the term loosely) and proof, as well as prior presidents. But NOTHING ever happened to them, because they were from the correct side of the aisle.
You appear to state, as fact, that the “payment was made to protect Trump’s campaign…” I assume you have proof of this? No one else seems to, and they have turned over every single rock. Restate it as merely YOUR OPINION!
And you are partially correct in that, “No One Is Above The Law” … except for anyone on the left.
And finally, you are correct in that this is an historic case. It is the one where the USA officially became a banana republic and an honorable man, who happens to be the FRONTRUNNER by far, against a senile old goat, was the victim…
Don’t bother reviewing it – I spoke the TRUTH, so that guarantees 100% that it will NOT be allowed to post.
